Introducing Ovation’s new product Reborn 200(single white), Reborn 200T (Tunable white), Reborn 1000C (Colored LED) – third party LED retrofit designed for Source Four LED profiles. With the Reborn 200, you can upgrade your Source Four profiles to LED based technology.
Traditional Source Four
The Source Four – such a great product for lighting industry since the year of 1992. According to official, there is over 1.7 million Source Four in the market.
It combines the energy-saving power of the HPL lamp, with a dichroic reflector and optical-quality lenses, for the coolest beam on the market.
As the development of LED. LED ellipsoidal not only have advantage of life time. But also extremely efficient in ouput with lower power consumption as well as good color quality.
Upgrade to LED In Seconds
It’s so easy to upgrade from HPL lamp base to the LED retrofit:
- Remove the HPL lamp socket
- Install the fix bolt
- Then install the LED retrofit and fix with the screw
Normally all these steps can be done under 1 minute. Simple steps and convenient.
Color temperature
Reborn 200, a single white LED retrofit for Source Four, offers three color temperature, 3200K, 4000K and 5600K selectable. 3200K stimulate the color temperature of tungsten lamp. 4000K is good when you need the fixture installed as commercial lighting. And 5600K which is for stuio lighting.

Reborn 200T, a tunable version LED retrofit for Source Four, provides a tunable white LED source from 2700K to 7000K. User can adjust the color temperature smoothly via DMX console. CTO / CTB gel will be no longer needed for your Source Four. Furthermore, when we say 200W dual white LED source. We mean each color temperature have an output of 200W. And even when you mix to a neutral white, it’s still close to 200W power. The benefit of this is that the brightness stays almost same when you adjust the color temperature.
Reborn 1000C, our last released retrofit, a colored version LED retrofit for Source Four ellipsoidal. It is powered by totally 1000Watt RGBV LED source. V here stand for warm white. Each color of the LED source are limited to 250W max output. So it means Red color=250W max, Green color=250W… And also when full on, it’s still 250W max output.
Color rendition
When we designed the fixture, engineer put more energy on the light quality and noise performance on the first place.
We want the LED retrofit have superb color rendition. So for the Reborn 3200K version, you will notice it’s CRI reaches 98 which is almost same as the HPL lamp’s performance. TLCI, TM30, all these data is just so close to perfect. For more detail dada, please refer to our datasheet.
Smooth dimming
The Reborn 200 have very smooth dimming. And with built-in dimmer curves: Stage, TV, Architecture, Theatre selectable.
RDM support (XLR singnal connection)
Like all Ovation’s other theatre light products. The Reborn 200 also support standard RDM protocol. RDM signal is connected via the 3-pin XLR connector(5-pin on request).
“RDM – Remote Device Management is a protocol that sits on top of the DMX data standard for lighting control. It offers two-way communications for configuration, monitoring and system setup.“
LED retrofit for Source Four Junior
After the Retrofit for Source Four released, we got more and more request from client, can you make a retrofit for Source Four JR? Since there is no such product on the market yet. That is how the Retrofit for Source Four Junior got released.
For the version of S4 JR, please understand that only the Single white Reborn 200 and Tunable white Reborn 200T is available. Since the Reborn 1000C will need a filter film be installed on the front of the reflector. The JR version will not be possible to do so.
Can you tilt the profile yoke all the way down?
Another question that we got frequently asked is can you tilt the profile yoke all the way down?
The body of the Reborn retrofit is a bit wider then the S4 engine. Since we have to put PCBS, XLR connectors, power connectors into the small body. Which makes it not able to tilt down with the original yoke.
However, we do developed a custom yoke, which is a bit wider, to make it possible to tilt down. The custom yoke is an optional part for the retrofit.
